Doesn't matter much as it is all relevant...or not, depending upon your perspective.

Obfuscation...the highest art form.

One would question why you need a watch living on Urth? Does the sun not rise every day, and is the sparrow's shadow not the same length from one morning to the next? What are we to do once the shadow becomes civilized and time mocks us.?

I've begun noticing that with the advent of the smart phone, you go into many establishments and there are no clocks on the walls.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace"

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

People who wear watches are slaves of time according to one of my English teachers in high school.

That's the ONLY thing I remember from his class.

Did you have to be on time to the class?

I tried googling that, forgot the words... laugh

A friend of mine had a stunt he'd pull on new foremen hired into our plant. Someone would hand the new guy a watch which was supposed to be an old family heirloom, ask him to take it up to the toolroom and ask for Larry. Larry did watch repair for a hobby. So the mark seeks out Larry, hands him the watch. Larry goes into a big rant cussing like a sailor, sets the watch down on his work bench, pulls out a big lead hammer and proceeds to smash the schidt outta the watch. The newbee's reaction is usually priceless..

"...Time and Number are nothing other than modes of thinking, or rather, modes of imagining."

Spinoza

So, what time do you want it to be?

The key elements in human thinking are not numbers but labels of fuzzy sets. -- L. Zadeh

Which explains a lot.
