This is a large issue in NW Iowa, the Des Moines water works has a lawsuit against a few drainage districts up stream on the North Raccoon River.
Des Moines wants to be able to send tap water out with out treating it, just test, and pump it along.
Can anyone post a link?

They don't treat ground water here, add chlorine, and fluoride.

Thanks bender, the Des Moines Register is our local liberal rag, but that link is the latest on the suit.
The water works must think food somehow "grows", on the supermarket shelf.
If the suit is successful for Des Moines it will have huge ramifications for farming, and ranching all over the country.
