I have a blue box of Black Hills 223 Rem and I will shoot this in my newly acquired Tikka. I can hardly read the head on the brass to see what brass it is. It was only when I read on Black Hills site that they use brass sourced from somewhere else. I had to look real hard and under natural light and I think I see it says LC. So this is Lake City brass and at least I do not use this in other rifles of that caliber.

So this brass is reloadable right? I think LC brass is thicker so this brass takes less powder right? are the LC brass good reloads?

Military brass like LC is not necessarily thicker than commercial .223 brass. In my experience LC usually has the largest internal capacity.

The only two times I have pulled the rim off a case was reloading LC brass out of Blue Box Black Hills.

Nothing wrong with it, just needed more case lube for what ever reason.

Other than that, it reloads fine.

LC is not necessarily lower capacity than commercial and in fact is often higher capicity; it varies. You must measure it to know for sure.

Interesting read on it here:
