I'm in the process of "thinning the herd" and my varmint rifle, which I've not had out in the field for at least ten years, is a prime candidate. It is a Savage Model 12 single-shot version, with26" heavy fluted barrel. I replaced the factory stock with a laminate blank from Boyd's which I had professionally bedded and finished by one of our best stockmakers. I got a US Optics 3.2-17 tactical scope from my friend, the late John Williams, and mounted it on the rifle. I shot prairie dogs with it for a couple days and it went in my safe and hasn't come out, other than to wipe it down, since. We have almost no prairie dogs in my part of Arizona, and too few Jack rabbits to shoot. Therefore, it's up for sale. I'll take $2250 for it to your FFL's door. That's about what the scope is worth.
