Today we had a great dinner. Deer sirloin and steak from the grill. Really melted to our mouths. Great season pays of cold days in the forests. smile

The steaks look good, congrats on your hunt success.

Looks great.

Been eating on deer since early November. Don't think I've bought 5 pounds of beef in all that time. Hard to find a decent piece of beef in stores these days anyway, except the high-end stores like Wegman's, and who can afford that? Used to buy whole tenderloins at Costco, but not at $15-$19 a pound.

Wife has been on me to grill backstrap kabob's. That makes me think I might just do that this week!

Nothing more healthy than 'organic' wild animal meat. The only beef we buy is ground, and not much of that. Having liberal deer quota we never run out of venison.

Ever have Venison Jambalaya ? --- ummm ummm good !!

Jerry

Do you use venison sausage or cubed meat for your Jambalaya?

Cubed venison + smoked sausage + ONyon & normal jambalaya seasonings.

I've eaten Jamb. with chicken or squirrel or rabbit. IMO venison is best.
