Buffalo Trace is good. Weller's is better. Both are darn hard to find around here
Weller's is my go to bourbon. You see it, you buy it. Buy two, because you may not see it again for many months. Two years ago, I could buy it for $17/750ml, but I doubt I'll see that price again. Too many people know about it now.
Local has Weller on the shelf for $17 or $39 for the 1.75 want me to snag a couple for you?
Never heard of this stuff until a day ago.. Also heard (and found out) that it's literally sold out in this area.. . . .
It is way over rated IMHBAO!

I'm tellin ya....if ya can find some corner creek , get it and TRY it....it's better and a little less expensive!

Excellent campfire drink, for sure. They carry it at the liquor store by my property up North - it's a default.
For Manhattans, I usually default to Woodfords Reserve.
However, just tried Coopers when I was down in GA. Haven't been able to find it yet in MN - but if you are a Bourbon fan - you have to check out Coopers. It may be my new favorite.
I feel for you fellas who live in Bourbon starved locations. The stuff nearly grows on trees around here.
Oh, and Woodford Reserve is more my favorite, but I do away with Evan Williams for everyday work.
I still regret not meeting up with you last July, when I was in your fair city. I did though, score a number of 750s of my all time favorite, Old Fitzgerald Bourbon. Sadly, Heaven Hill, the owner of the brand now, has really 'dumbed down' the product.
Whiskey's a funny thing. You can spend $20 on a fifth at find it quite enjoyable to sip, then spend double or triple that and not be that impressed.
Truer words never spoken.. I've been drinking Evan Williams for years. For a cheaper bourbon it's pretty good; close to JD but without the bite..

Since I work at Buffalo Trace I have to take exception to your statement. Blantons and the various Van Winkle bourbons have no relation except that Buffalo Trace distillery makes both. Blantons is a high rye bourbon while Van Winkle uses the same Wheated grain recipe (what we call a mash bill) as Mannlicher's favorite WL Weller.
I like WL Weller too, especially the hard to find 12 year old, and Eagle Rare is my go to sipping whiskey as I can always find it.
You guys who like higher proof bourbons look for Weller Antique 107 proof, Stagg Jr. Barrel proof and EH Taylor small batch.
Best Bourbon I have tasted recently is Russell Reserve Single Barrel made by Wild Turkey.
Very interesting.. Didn't know you worked for BT.. Thanks for that info!
