In regards to the gun I posted with the goat, it has a 20 inch barrel. Did any variant of the 1899C come with a 20 inch barrel???

Jeff, that's just cool that you got to go up there with Michael! He grew up just a stone's throw from where I live. He's the real deal for sure! I had dinner with him recently, as he's gotten to be friends with my brother. We met just before he left for his recent "European tour". He took a 250-3000 for his Black forest boar hunt!! All: I was in Kodiak Island Alaska a few years ago on a brown bear hunt. While there, I met this guy and we built a pretty solid relationship on guns. My influence on him has been 99s. He is a pretty famous brown bear guide/hunter. If you are from Alaska, you might know him. If you are from Kodiak, you definitely do. Anyways, I got him going on 99s and he has taken the bait hook, line and sinker. I got these two pics from him tonight. 1899C 30-30 140 yards 1 shot, bang flop.

I've heard a man can kill Sitka Blacktails with 99. I heard that you can kill one with an early 99F in 300 Savage.

Well great, now there'll be less to go around. Just kidding - kind of that is...
