I would "think" the only problem you would have is if you turned real hard against the spacer. I'm sure something could be stripped like that but be halfway careful and no worries. I worry about that with how I do stops for my Conquests and Nightforce SHV. This is the SHV. As you come down on the stop, it's gonna be putting upward pulling force on the erector internals. Whether that's a PROBLEM, don't know.

I don't worry about it but I don't twist them to zero as hard as I can either. Just mindful is all.

Thanks for posting this. I like zero stops. Is there a DIY fix specifically for the 3-9x42HD? I've read everything I can find, and found where the fixed and 3-15's had a zero stop available, but the ones for the 3-9's were not recommended. Thanks. JG, I made some for the 3-9 myself. They work fine. 3-9 zero stop John
