I was recently given 100 80 grain sierra prohunters. I see they are no longer in production how well do they perform on deer and similar sized game? Am I wrong in suspecting that performance was poor and that is why they are no longer in production and there is so little I can find with Google about them?

If so that was a single shot pistol bullet.

I have no idea on the part number I think I'll leave them to punching paper and perhaps coyotes or trade them off for other components.

Those single shot 80 grainers were the best of the 80s for deer hunting...

they quit making them due to sales... not enough of single shot shooters were buying them....

Same as us who love Round Nose bullets, they aren't dropped due to lack of performance capabilities.. just a lot of shooters and hunters want something new and trendy, instead of OLD, tried and proven...
