i guess they have become politically correct. i was in a gunstore and picked up a glock advertising brochure. and discovered the glock 25, basically a tad bigger than the 42, but a 15 round mag, rather than six, restricted to law enforcement only. price law enforcement only. so with all due respects a cop can be trusted with a 15round mag, but i can't?
Lets see, that cz83 holds 12 rounds of 380, or the cz82 the same in makarov, or i could go to one of those savage 1907's in 380 with 12 rounds.
what are they thinking?

Sure would like to have one, gotta have my son check for me. Daughter retired and bought her Sig when she did. A 226 for $200.00 ain't bad as she was just issued it new 2 years ago.

what are they thinking? I think it's the same as the 19, just chambered in .380. It's generally for countries with laws that make .380 the most powerful caliber civilians can own. The only reason they are for Law Enforcement only in the US is that it's illegal to import compact .380 pistols into the US, unless it's for law enforcement, and they don't make them at the US Glock factory because they figure few Americans would want a 19 chambered in .380 when they can have one in 9mm.

I wouldn't want the .380 either, if I can get the same gun in 9mm unless it's something like a microcompact.

those cz82/83 guns in 9mak and 380 ain't all that big. and they are imported. but the laws around this stuff can get kind of stupid. We were friends with the russians for a few months after the wall fell. thus for a brief period importation of the svt38 and svt40 russia's answer to the garand. Then they changed their minds. I don't know if anyone has noticed it but those 40dollar moisin nagant rifles are now in the 300dollar range. I heard the other day the majority were coming from the ukraine/georgia, but due to the "issues" there no more coming in.

I remember when the Russian SKS rifles started coming in for a hundred dollars a pop, mostly never issued, factory new, rifles. I picked up four of them. I sold one to my brother for what I paid, kept three. When the price got to $300.00, I kept the best one and sold the other two. Profit: $200 plus one SKS in reserve, totaling a profit of $500.00 if you count the resale value of the one I kept. I don't know what they're going for today, but I still have that one.

Yep. Russian. This was right after the break up of the Soviet Union. A big local gun store brought in hundreds of them.
