I'm loading the same bullet in my 9.3x62 with 22" barrel. It's a No.1S. I've only taken one deer with it which was a fallow doe at 90 metres. The deer was at a slight angle and the bullet went in and out and the deer wobbled a few metres and fell over dead. It has proved very accurate in my rifle. The 232gn Vulcan shoots the same but I haven't shot any game with it yet.

I can't think of a better choice than the Oryx for deer in that cartridge.

I load the 232gn Oryx or Vulcan bullets to shoot smaller big game like fallow deer and pigs. Most of the other deer species in Australia are similar in size or a little bit bigger than fallow. However, I have been warned against using these lighter 232gn bullets against sambar deer which are bigger and tougher then the other five species. Reds are quite large but relatively soft animals. I have some 250gn Accubonds to load if I get the urge to take my No.1 after sambar. I usually use my .35 Whelen with 225gn Accubonds on sambar and that bullet exits and leaves a good hole on the other side so the 9.3mm Accubond would behave similar I'd say.

I use 232 Vulkans in the 9.3x57 for whitetail deer. They really open up; just like the Swedes call them a "button". I haven't shot a shoulder though, just clean side shots.
If you're looking to shoot past 150 yards or so, I'd probably choose the 270 Speer or 250 AB. The short, stubby 232 Normas lose velocity fast and fly like a brick.

Where I hunt and how I hunt rarely produces a shot at more than 100 yards, with the average being 40-50 yards.

FWIW, given how close the 9.3x62 and .375 H&H are...I did use a 300gr partition at 2,500 fps from my .375 H&H one year. I did experience my one and only known bullet failure to date. The partition didn't expand on that 140# Texas whitetail.

I'd have no qualms about using a 9.3 at all on deer. Or anything in NA. I personally have worked up Mule Deer's Big Game load with a 286 Parition clocking 2,525 fps in my 9.3 with 3/4" accuracy at 100. I have no doubt it will work...though I might think a 250 AB or the 232 Oryx be a better choice particularly if driven at 2650 or better.

Then the 232 Norma's are perfect. Don't need to push them hard. I only get 2400 in my 9.3x57. Under 150 yards the 232 Oryx at 2500 is plenty for a whitetail - will pass through on a double lung shot and leave glop for guts.
