I favor a chest carry rig for a larger handgun. Bonus for me is that this keeps my revolver out of the water, when I am wading through streams or swamps.

I carry a 5" N frame in a bandolier/tanker style. Pretty comfortable and stays out of the way if you're wearing binos.

Many Thanks, that was useful

Am seriously considering one with shoulder belt for my 1911.

Norm, and his holsters, are first rate. The most comfortable shoulder rig a guy can find.

Great leather.

Diamond D Guides Choice Chest Holster is how I carry my S & W 329. A great holster.

Has anyone tried the Man Gear Alaska chest rigs? From what I have seen they look pretty decent.

I have 2 Diamond D chest holsters, one for the Glock 20 and one for 5.5" SA's. They are extremely comfortable, don't interfere with carrying a backpack and/or rifle and put your handgun in a very accessible position. They are also for easy to adjust to wear over or under your coat.
