Yeah, smokeless powder is just a passing fad... DF LOl, black in a sixgun is fun DF, my old Colt SAA has never been more accurate, and that's coming from a dipstick that don't shoot pistols.

Purist... You dark siders can get a bit uppity about your addiction... I do like to hear the big hollow BOOM they make. It is a lot different than smokeless. I remember being at a Civil War reenactment. The ground shook when those cannons fired. After a while, you couldn't see anything. Wonder how those guy could see how to shoot. Gives more meaning to the term, "fog of war"... DF

So I was in the local gun shop and didn't see any unique on the shelves. I asked the shop owner if he had some around and he told me for some reason it was hard to get for the last few years for him. He had several other Alliant products as well as several other brands. He told me that Unique was his prefered powder for years but had been using Universal for the last few and liked it just as well if not better. I got a jar of that and he printed me out a sheet from alliant that called for 8.5 grains for a 255 grain bullet. I made my first hundred like that with Hornady RNL and my second hundred with Hornady Jacketed hollow points 230 gr, 8.0 grains powder. Both loads seem to work fine. I'm out of town this week, but I heard from my dog/horse sitter that my Lyman 50th came in the mail yesterday, I won't get to see it till Fri night though, then I'll have lots of things to try out.

BTW do any of you have a bucket of used brass you'd be willing to sell? or a lead on where to find some? All my internet hunting keeps bringing me to .45 apc and 9mm seems 45LC is a little more scarce unless it's new.
