I'm considering treating my Dad to a Walleye fishing trip "up north" somehwere. Our time frame is preferably the week of Memorial Day. This trip is for him, and he'll want:

1. Meals prepared
2. Comfortable (but not lavish) accomodations, i.e., hot water, private bathroom/shower, decent bed, etc.
3. Boat/Motor
4. He doesn't like to fish/hunt with guides, so a lake that's fishable by relative novices.
5. Drive-in (as opposed to fly-in)
6. relative seclusion--don't want to feel crowded or feel like we are crowding others, but don't mind seeing a few other boats.

He fished quite a bit in southwest Ontario (Kenora?) before I was born, but hasn't been there in decades. I would expect that this area is pretty "commercialized" by now, but locals or others who are familiar with it may tell me I'm wrong.

Any recommendations for an area? a lake? a specific lodge?

TIA

Try looking at this one. It meets the criteria you've listed. But you will want to bring your own boat and motor.

It is a drive to, then a 7 mile (iirc) boat ride to the lodge.

Do it today. Tomorrow there may be a law against it.
