Selling for a family friend. Bought new in '64 and has had less than 4 boxes of shells through it. Has not been fired since 1988 I know little about this other than it was suggested I post here. I put it on Gunbroker for $700 plus shipping and think that is a pretty fair number. All case color is still on lever and I'd rate the gun at 92-95%. Gold trigger and Monte Carlo stock. Alum buttplate and magazine guts. Some one told me the price was light and another told me it was too much. Who knows???

And post a link to your Gunbroker ad.

Caliber and condition will determine value. If you started it at 700 who knows where it might end up? 64 is right in that place where it could be cut checkered, double diamond or pressed. A lot of variables.
To repeat RAS, post a link.

Too bad, it's got stamped checkering. The seller needs to post more pics. From that pic it's hard to tell if it is a $500 rifle or a $700 rifle.
wyo1895 With Savage never say never. For a copy of my book on engraved Savage lever actions rifles send a check for $80 to; David Royal, p.o. box 1271, Pinedale, Wy., 82941. I will sign and inscribe the book for you. [email protected]

Double diamond checkering only in 64.
Someday (not today) that gun will be highly collectable.

I bought a 1968 DL in 308 a couple years ago for $350. It was a friend who gave me a good deal. Not good at putting % conditions on guns. I can't tell the difference between 90 and 99. At that point they look so good to me I drool. I would think your price is in line, good luck, Joe.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.
