We're all covered up with snow at home here. Yesterday, Pam and I made a run out to deer camp to retrieve our little tractor. We parked the truck and trailer out a mile from the cabin and walked in because spring time wheel travel is usually not good out there. I was actually surprised how dry it was out there, we could have drove in. But it was a nice walk, it was cool out but we dressed for it. We saw some wildlife, cabin is in great shape, no troubles out there. One interesting thing we noticed is that a lot of the norways planted in the most recent logging cut near our gate were all chewed back. Deer have been eating them
Something clever here.

I didn't know deer did that. I know spring is harder on them than most seasons tho.
Good to hear the cabin is in good shape!

Yep, winter wonderland here again. Bet we got 10", & more coming this afternoon & tomorrow.
Glad you & Pam had some quality time together & that all was good at camp.
I believe deer will eat anything that is young & tender at this time of the year.

It's hard for me to reconcile Southern weather to "up nort" weather. We have had some 80 degree plus days. The grass has already been cut twice and everything else that is green has leaved and is doing great. I'm not being critical, just amazed at how long you guys have cold weather. Of course we didn't have much of a winter. The coldest I remember it being during deer season was 38 degrees and that just a couple of times and it got warmer after the sun came out or the day progressed. Oh well just an observation based on what you guys were saying.

45/70,it's almost a religion.
If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

I've never been to the Carolina's and I miss the weather. It is sunny and 45 this morning though, so I have that going for me, which is nice. Stan, I live about 6 hours south of Dave and we don't usually get the weather extremes he and Pam get up there. But you're weather is nicer for sure. We did mow the lawn once already though. "We" means my son did it.

GG i dont think the crappies are spawning yet. Buddy was out at Carls lake said some were starting to move in. But not the mass yet. Hope that helps.
Also seen guys still trolling in front of my place in 12-15ft.

I was in WI last weekend and the beds were in the weeds up by shore. You could see the beds already. They could be from bluegills I guess. I thought it was early. I thought for bass and panfish, it was like June?
