I've got about 1/2 an old can left of Reloader 25 from my WSSM days. What cartridges can it be safely used in? Thanks, John Boy

I've used it in the 7mm Rem Mag, 7MM STW, and 264 Win Mag, Hell it should do well in just about any magnum cartridge!

I got over my magnumitis with the 223 WSSM. Can it be used in any conventional cartridges? 30-06; 25-06.......

A bud of mine preferred in in his 270 with 150 grain bullets. Should make a dandy powder in 25-06 with 115-120 grain projectiles.

If it's suitable for cartridges using slugs toward the heavy for calibre side would it do for a 30-06 with 220 grain slugs? Or, 22-250 with 85 to 90 grain slugs?

I use IMR7828 in .270 W 150 grain bullets, and H4831 with 178grain .30-06 bullets. With heavy .30-06 bullets I bet the worst that would happen with RL 25 would be slow velocity. Might work fine with the right barrel. I have an elderly very talented gunsmith friend that heartily recommends H4831 for the inattentive, careless, or novice reloader of .30-06. He says it is hard to hurt yourself with that powder. Might be the same with RL 25.

I've used H4831 & H4831SC forever. Varget for small stuff. Those two fill 95% of my reloading needs. I have simple needs........

Use it in your 25-06. 110 gr bullets and heavier. 57-60 gr charge wt. Works great.

Yep. It is my go to for 160 Partitions.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I've read that RL-26 may be slightly faster burning than RL-25.
I'm working on 7RM loads with RL-26. Have read some good stuff about it.

R25 works well in the 270 WSM with 140-160 gr. loads.
R 26 seems to vary with case size 06 and smaller it is very close to R22. In the wsm and larger it is closer to R25 but still slightly "faster".It has proven useful in cases from .243 to 300 Win. so far. In the 7RM it will equal my old H870 loads but is much cleaner and temperature stable.

41 I like RL-25, but RL-26 definitely has my attention. I think it's going to be more versatile, more temp stable and probably cleaner burning. Time will tell. DF

It looks like for a standard non magnum cartridge the 25-06 is a front runner. Unless someone in East Texas had some to trade. Nearly out of Varget and H4831sc........ These two suffice for 95% of my reloading.

BTW, I'm seeing Varget and H4831 availablilty improving. DF
