I was just thinking that! How have you been?
Did you shoot that .280 yet?

It appears that I'll FINALLY have a Saturday at home this coming weekend. I don't have any fishing opener plans so I think a day in the woods is in order. Sunday is slated for putting the dock and lifts in at the In-laws cabin for Mothers Day.

Hoping to get out fishing this weekend. I haven't touched the boat since I bought it. I'm off Friday, so I hope to get it quickly gone through and head to a quiet smaller lake just to practice trailering the danged thing. I don't want to be out there plugging up the ramp at 4 a.m. on Saturday because I haven't tried backing it in yet.

You won't be plugging any ramps at 4am. I'll be turkey hunting with the boy, trying to get him his first strutter. It will be a short trip, but hopefully successful. Probably no fishing for me. I ordered the last piece of carpet I need for the floor. I hope it matches, I had to get a different source.

The DeWitt Road ramp on Prior Lake is routinely full to capacity by 4:30 a.m. on the opener. It's not so much getting on that I'm concerned about. It's when I go to leave that concerns me.

GG come over to Fish. Traffic has not been bad. I dont see it being busy at the landing.
Crappies are in shallow, everybody has been fishing in 5to10ft. Seen people catching some here and there.

No duck-if I don't get a chance to get the boat out for a shakedown cruise on Friday, you may see me Saturday. I haven't had it in the water yet, and I'm not even sure what's gonna work and what won't. I'm off Friday and hope to rig it out as best possible and go for a ride Friday evening. Heck, I still gotta buy a fishing license.

Best wishes for a good opener tomorrow for all the Minnesota boys heading out for old glassy eyes. 'Been working on the boat all afternoon. The only thing I've got left to fix are the lights.

If you're basing a fishing trip on trailer and boat lights...you'll never see the water!! Lol One will work on the way out, the other will will work intermitantly on the way home!

I was out to the cabin the other day. Chickenbuck Joe and I walked in. The road is perfectly dry, we could have drove the truck in. But we didn't want to scare off nesting geese and ducks. There was one pair of honkers up by the cabin with 3 chicks.
No fishing for me, we will enjoy our first full weekend home in probably 6 weeks or more.
Something clever here.

I only have baseball pics. The kids ride their bikes to the lake and fish but don't take any pics.

I was too busy catching fish to take pictures. Got limits on Ottertail Sunday afternoon with a guy who knows how to fish and let me ride along!

I've never fished that lake. Always wanted too, just never the chance.

I went to Ottertail for 2 or 3 openers in a row (missed last year) and the weather sucked every time. When we could get on the lake during a letup in wind and rain, we didn't even get a bite.
