Got hit pretty hard with hail at my place today. The house got hit with siding and trim damage. My truck has heavy damage to the hood, roof, and drivers side from the 70mph winds blowing hail sideways.

Insurance? We got a "hail roof" about 20 years ago after a bad storm. Good luck buddy.

Tom -
Don't be too quick to settle any insurance claims. Hail damage to the roof doesn't always show up right away.
But then again if it was that bad you can probably already see roof damage?

I'm not 100% sure what it even looks like other than what I've googled so far. I do have siding damage. It's "buckled", paint knocked off, and a few areas are broke. It's some sort of pressed board so something. triple 4". I've recently had a few home contractors over to look at putting on an addition and said they won't be able to match the siding. So I don't know if it gets fixed or replaced. Either way, sh it's broke. lol
I'll climb up on a ladder this afternoon and see if there is any damage that I can clearly see.
So far, the insurance has been easy to deal with. They want me to get a few estimates on the house, then we'll deal with the truck.

If I only fished when it was nice out, I'd never fish.

Of course there is insurance! What I meant was would you be filing a claim? Got a few too many clinging dingleberries today, Tom?

Well I'm guessing there is about $40k of damage between the "stuff" so, yes I'll be filing a claim. I already started the process today. With the amount of homes damaged, I don't imagine it will be a fast process.

I talked to an optometrist that used to work for me. He lives in Circle Pines and got hit pretty hard. he said he's all ready had two guys knock on the door wanting to do his work. Watch out, as the scammers will be coming out of the woodwork.

Well, weather depending, I'll get the new/used boat out fishing for the first time Friday. Radiation treatement at 8 a.m., and then home to pick up the boat and hit the water. The only thing I haven't checked out yet is the livewell. So we'll see if that all works when I get it out Friday. The depth finder's different from what I had on the other boat, so I've got to figure that out as I go, but it seems to work just fine. 'Think I'll try for walleyes for a couple hours and then go look for sunnies and crappies.

just got back from C eh N eh D eh fishing. Great time. Two highlights....my 13 year old daughter had a 38.5 inch northern explode on her bait right at boatside. Man, was that awesome! A great fight and she got a huge adrenaline rush.
Next was "the bet". We were beating up on the walleyes one morning pretty good. As we were approaching 100 walleyes (my son loves to keep track on a clicker) my dad said, I will give whoever catches the 100th walleye $1. So my 9 year old son hooks the 100th walleye of the morning. About halfway to the boat, my daughter hooks one. The race is on. My son is yelling for the net, my daughter is yelling for the net and it is up to me to pick who boats the fish first. Or not. About 15 feet from the boat, my son decides he better not wait for the net and a walleye missile is soon headed into the boat! He won the bet!
Anxious to see how the boat works out Goph!
Dandy fish Ryan!

VERY nice fish,Ryan. You guys talking about CVA rifles. That is a subject near and dear to me. I have two CVA Hunter centerfire models I regularly hunt with. One is a 7M-08 and my favorite is a 45/70.CVA makes a very nice rifle. I was an H&R Handi rifle fan for a number of years but CVA has turned me from them. I have disposed of all four except the beautiful LITTLE .300 Blackout. I am a single shot fanatic. My first muzzle loader years ago was a CVA Kentucky. Beautiful gun. Shot well. Killed a few deer with it. Now I use a Thompson Center "New Englander" synthetic stock Hawken style in .54 caliber. I have never used anything but round balls and never had a deer run from it. I use only iron sights and in the past few years have changed from black powder to Pyrodex pistol granule. I find I get more consistent ignition with Pyrodex and better accuracy. I want to wish all of you fathers a Happy Father's Day.

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
45/70,it's almost a religion.
If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.
