Have carried and used a smart fone for about 4 years now. Weather app was one of the first things I downloaded. Tried several apps but settled on AccuWeather. It is user friendly and easy to understand.

But...

I have noticed many times that the weather map showing radar returns does not always update. If I look at the map at 7:00 AM I'll see the weather activity for that time. If I look again at noon, it still shows the 7AM time and the same weather patterns. And it might be 12-14 hours later and still showing the first image I pulled up for the day. It will update if I fool with it long enough but it takes some jacking around to get what I want.

I even resorted to buying their app at a cost of ~ $3... Thought it might improve things, but the only improvement i see is the lack of ads.

What is the best weather app?

I use this free NOAA weathrr app.
Pretty accurate . Has a cool graph feature showing temp humity and windspeed trends. Also, the radar function keeps my azz out of the way of twisters this time if the year.

Our snoozepaper uses accuweather. They seem way wrong here.

I like weatherunderground.com on Safari and their app too.

I've been using two. MyRadar app for radar viewing and Weather Underground for general forecast,
sunrise sunset moon phase, barometric pressure...etc.
MyRadar is very accurate...in my experience. So far!

I just use the built in Android weather shortcut. It isn't even an installed app, just a shortcut on the desktop. I don't like installing anything on my phone. It's not as comprehensive as the downloaded apps but all I really care about is a simple forecast anyway and it'll do that out to 10 days. I'm kind of Spartan with my phone.

A 10-day forecast is a joke.

A 10-day forecast is a joke.

It gives other information like hour by hour temperature, humidity, wind, air quality, precipitation. I just like it because it's simple and you don't have to install any 3rd party software. If you want more, install whatever the hell you want. Some people like simple.

The Weather Channel and MyRadar. Between the two I can get fairly dialed in.

I get alla that.

The point remains as to the futility of a forecast out that far. We have a TV station that proudly claims "only 7-day forecast".
Look at it tonight for Friday, and it will give a different forecast for Friday by the morning.

The only way the forecast that far out is valid is when there is a large, stable, blocking high in place.

I like WeatherBug the best as a general weather app. I also use "Hi-Def Radar" and "SnowForecast".
