Forgive I have sinned...I guess. I do not own a polymer framed, high capacity, striker fired 9mm pistol. Reckon there must be something wrong with me?

I have several to choose from in that flavor. I don't have anything in 9x19 though. But I do have a .38 super. Does that get me forgiven?

That's the first time I've seen those two words put together. The OP has a guilt complex over nothing, and there's a religion to fix it.

I only have one semi-auto that ain't a polymer frame. If 1911's were better, I'd own them.

Whatever your sins, take heart, there are those further down the road to perdition than you. I, for intance, have never owned a pistol of any type. I do have a few revolvers. But only in 327 and 41 mag. Never owned a 38, or a 357, or a 45.

They say confession is good for ya. I have been totin handguns nearly all the time for 50 years. First was a single action .45 colt.that my family owned. The 1911 became my favorite carry in the late 60's. The polymer guns never looked or felt right and I never considered spending money on them. I inherited a Glock 22 in the mid 90's It took a while but I grew to like it some. Then my boy got me an XDs as a gift, of course it is a .45acp. Both are polymer and striker fired...but they ain't 9mm. I guess I shall remain old school. An old gun fighter once told me it ain't the gun or the caliber or the round count that wins gun fights...it is what you have between your ears and in your heart. He dont have any 9mm guns either. A while ago there was a thread here where a fellow said he held a 1911 in his hand and he had never held a gun that felt so good in his hand. It is my thinking that I have only had one thing that felt better in my hand than a 1911...and I married her 50 years ago.

Sounds like you grew up on Jeff Cooper. Those guys tend to not like plastic hi-cap 9mm guns. Personal preferences... whatever.

Your penance for your sins is to own the original - and still best - hi-cap 9x19, the BHP. One concession to new fangled modernity would be the addition of a spare 15 round MecGar mag.

I have pretty much an even mixture, it kinda favors polymer.
4 polymers and 3 1911s.
5 are 45s.

... But I do have a .38 super. Does that get me forgiven? I give serious props to anyone with a .38 Super. But you still need to buy a Glock (Or CZ P10, or H&K VP9, or Walther PPQ, or ...)

Heck boys I still frequently carry revolvers. Thats even more old school. I didn't read much cooper stuff. but Elmer and Skeeter and Bob Milek did sway me a mite. A 4 inch 41 mag follows me around a lot. As does a couple .44 specials. I really don't feel under gunned in most places I may be found. I shoot those 9mml guns alot but I just don't own one. Some things I like about them...some things I don't. The 1911 has worked for me in the past and like the say if it ain't broke they ain't no sense tryin to fix it. My three polymer guns are all I need for now even if they are not chambered in 9mm.
