It looks like landfall will be Naples/Fort Myers area, but the damnn thing is 150 miles wide....bad either way.

I posted last night, my wife's Dad is in Fort Meyers very close to the shore,,,,he's staying with 3 cats in a little Cracker Jack house, "just a little wind and some rain" he says.
If I were closer I'd run over and get the cats.
PS: He'd better not risk 1 single emergency responders life, when it hits the fan and he starts chiitting his pants...he had plenty of time to evacuate.

I have a cousin and his wife who just retired to a new home in Naples. They have evacuated to southern Georgia but he texted me that they are almost expecting to lose it all considering the projected path.

prayers for you and wife's safety..... I've also got someone I love a great deal
who lives in Cape Coral...I'm worried about her and her family also...

I don't wish a hurricane on anybody, but the best thing this storm can do is go straight up Florida and die before.it hits the hot Gulf and gets really bad.

I don't see any best thing for Irma, it's going to F up anything in its way until it peters out. Whether that's Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and or Texas.

I don't wish a hurricane on anybody, but the best thing this storm can do is go straight up Florida and die before.it hits the hot Gulf and gets really bad. It would slow down faster that way, for sure, but it looks like it will skirt the western coast of Florida, maintaining power all the way up, as it devastates the coast, then slam into the panhandle at high power.
