Hi all,

I just bought a Leica ERi 2.5x10x42mm for hunting on a right-hand Model 70 in 30-06. Rifle is stainless and would prefer (but not require) stainless rings/bases for lower field maintenance.

The gunsmith recommended three different scope rings and bases and said up to me to choose. He has had good/bad experiences with all.

Which would you choose for strength and concentricity for my 30mm scope?
1. Talley Lightweight-Alloy: Model-70-Standard-Caliber_Low Non-stainless.
2. Talley-Fixed-Ring-System/Stainless-Steel_Low)
3. CONETROL_Specialty_Stainless

I'm not MD, but my preference for that rifle would be Talley lightweights. Not the silver ones, but the matte black. Lows would probably still work on a 42mm objective. If you wan't pics, I have plenty...

Talley Lightweights

Conetrol rings

In that order...Conetrol rings are great rings, a bit of a PITA to mount and unless you use their supplied paper liner will mar your scope tube. Talleys will be much much easier to mount and work fine in that application.

+1 what Oldelkhunter wrote. I've got both and while the Conetrols might be a little sleeker looking, they get lots more $ for what they sell and the Talley's are way easier to mount.

Thank you all. I went with the Talleys and the rifle will be ready this weekend.
