I just heard a CNN pundit say this was uniquely American as far as mass murders go, since full auto weaponry was used. I guess because most countries don't allow civilian full auto ownership.?.?.?
I didn't think this had been confirmed yet. Sounds like a libtard making an assumption based on the sound from the videos.

CNN aired a tape with the sounds of gunfire on it - it sounded like full auto. But then, it doesn't matter. wonder what motivated the shooter (politics, mental illness, anger, or just a nut job). Regardless,it will re-energize the call for gun control.

It didn't sound like "real" full auto to me. The sound was not fully uniform, it seemed variable. Bump firing and binary triggers sound like this...kind of herky jerky. But it could just be the crappy video/audio or the echo. I guess we will know soon enough as police release more info.

I would expect a conversation to turn to hardware after the hardware is known.
The way I read conjecture at this point is the stereotypical masses looking to point fingers at inanimate objects. And I don't like that.

Anyone with a bit of experience can shoot a semi auto fast enough to confuse those with limited firearms experience and even those that do

Wait until full investigation comes out And at night.. Daily Mail is reporting the ID was based off of a wallet. Lots of facts to come out, and double checking of known "facts" to happen. It'll be a couple of days at least before any news is solid.

I have. I was at various times the designated "automatic rifleman" back in the prehistoric days before SAW's when one guy in the squad was supposed to use full auto fire with the M16. Three-four round bursts are not hard to control and will get 1-2 rounds on a standard silhouette target out to your battle zero which is/was 300 meters, this from some kind of supported position like prone or firing over barriers. Never shot a full magazine on full auto, that would've gotten a good ass chewing by the platoon sergeant.
Not sure how germane that is to the discussion, just answering the question.
