Were they a item in the 1870's? If not then why would this gun need one? smile

Hi everyone it has been some time since I posted here on this forum.
I am reviving an old old post concerning the "Pig Gun" that I built some years ago.

I am curious who owns it currently if anyone knows? Possible PM'ing me would be the best so as to not make ownership information public.

Thank much in advance and looking forward to responses

Wow, 14-years and one month! That has to be a record for continuing a thread. I am looking forward to hearing the story on the results of your quest.

Thanks Guys,
I see the picture attachments to this thread still work so to me readers, new to this old old old thread, you may want to start at the beginning and look through the thread. Some above said its 14 years old, wow!

Last I remember Don, the lumberjack, from I think New Hampshire, (Time has dulled the memories and I don't remember his sign-in name) was last to possess the rifle.

Hoping this finds you all doing well. smile

Yep within the last year Don posted he still has the rifle I am sure he will be along. The rifle has come up in variuos other threads, one of the finest custom 99's I have ever seen! Still wish it were left handed.

You used to post your current projects I really enjoyed them Would not mind seeing some more.

ctw, Ha Ha, Thanks

Gun wise not that many projects lately. For the last 6 years my son and I have been making and selling camera mounting plates. which we patented, and also in the high power experimental rocket business. We sell a number of products and also make custom rocket parts. I might add that I am now retired from my previous career and very free to pursue all fun interests. smile
That is not to say completely out of the gun business however. In fact over on Gunsmithing I posted a question there this morning. Win M70's are my biggest interest the latest being a 1953 rifle in 375 H&H. The one that is the subject of my question.

Started originally 4 months before I joined the campfire and started learning about Savage's.

There's a bunch of names we don't see much any more.
