We used to bring pigs back for the neighbors when we had a lease that was full of them. THey were always happy. And even would take deer on occasion
I think its nice to share the bounties of nature! Good on ya Jeff!
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

The disparity between those who can and those who can't in this country is staggering. Whether it be cooking, basic math, repairing a vehicle, etc., When I was a wee lad I always like to be around my dad when he was working on the car, or my sister when she was cooking. Guess I picked up a few things along the way. Went whole hog for son's hs gradation.

Did you tell that chunky gal " you're either gonna have to lose weight or learn to cook woman, otherwise you'll just end up a port in the storm"
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Randy, Only time I've cooked a whole hog, it was a blast. Built a cooker in the yard, started a fire with alder and birch. 10 hours, three bags of charcoal and a few beers later it was done. Need to do it again but the blocks for the cooker are now a retaining wall in the driveway. Guess I'll just have to settle on pork butt on the BBQ Finished off in the oven

I'm coming over. Damn, that looks good! What is the stuffing? Details please?! Wasn't much left of head after .600 ball past thru it! Stuffing? Potatoes, onions, and an orange or two! Yum! I only shoot them "one-handed" pigs!

I saw an article that I wish I had saved. It listed 10 skills for living that were being lost and only some small % of our planets population could still perform them. Taking an animal from the field to the table was high on the list, and their example didn't involve anything exotic - just simply killing and preparing a chicken for a meal.

I built a pig rotisserie for my first wild boar. (Haven't got one yet. Ohio has 'em, but they are thin on the ground) . Portable, It will set up in about 10 minutes, will hold @6' of pig and will spin 360° in 15 sec. A.C. powered, and I built the drive mechanism. Just waiting to try it out.

I used several machines I removed, and rebuilt them as one. Geared it down. And changed out the controls from Oscillation to direct drive. It should suffice...

I can cook a little bit. I was busy working on things, hunting, fishing, and other things growing up. I married a women that can cook so I didn't really learn till I had a traveling job. Then I learned how to muddle my way through. I'm not good at cooking things and seasoning on the fly I do fine with preset seasoning mixes. My wife has the innate knack for seasoning on the fly to fix a dish that is going south and turn it into something awesome.
I'm near the leading edge of the millennial generation. I refuse to fall in with the rest of the generation. My children will be taught everything I know and hopefully will be willing to try to not just be part of the uneducated masses

My wife and I have a 50/50 agreement. 50% of the time I cook, and 50% of the time it's take out. Actually, she does have a couple of dishes she cooks that are petty good.
Fall seven times, stand up eight.
