I found one of these almost new shape. I bought some Maxi balls (245 gr) and some Hornady round balls. I can't find much load data on them. I have pyrodex and blackhorn. Whats your suggestions for some loads for whitetail?

BH209 is hard to light with a percussion cap, not recommended. I'd try the standard load of 80 grains pyroxex with the roundball.

50-60 grains FFFG. .440 RB .015 patch.
Get the vaccuum sealer ready and make room in the freezer.

I had a hard time getting blackhorn to light with CCI 209's. Switched to Winchester and haven't had a problem since. 80 of pyrodex works in my T/C .45 hawken.

The TC manual has load information for it. If yours didn't come with a booklet, you can probably find it scanned somewhere online by searching with google, etc. I have a .45 Seneca which won't handle loads as heavy as your gun will. My two most accurate loads use Goex FFg. I shoot 65 grains under a .440 PRB or 70 grains under a 245 grain conical. I use RWS magnum caps for both ... because that's what I had when I was testing loads, they work, so don't [bleep] with it. I believe my max loads are 90 grains with the PRB and 80 with the conical but accuracy goes to hell when I warm it up. Also, in my little light gun with a hooked butt plate, recoil starts to be objectionable with the warmer loads. The PRB load gives me something around 1700 fps and the conical load right around 1400. Edit: try this link for TC data. Tom

T/C doesn't list the manual for 45, just 50.

https://www.thoughtco.com/muzzleloader-black-powder-load-data-1926845There's data from the old manual, which used to be available online. I had a copy, but lost it when I had to blow out my iPad and start over. Data is also available from Goex and other sites, but it's kind of generic.
What fresh Hell is this?

In the morning I'll see if I can find the manual ( "Shooting Black Powder Guns" ) that should be in the box for my T/C Hawken. I think there was a load chart for the .45 cal. in it. If so, I'll be in touch and we can figure out how to get scans or copies to you.

Need HELP! Thing shot really good. Round balls and maxi balls. Moved the sights to get the maxi-balls right where I want them. Going to shoot one more round ball to verify where they were. Pushed the ball down and somehow the patch locked around the edge of the ramrod tip. LOCKED in TIGHT. Now what? How do I get it out of there?
