Just back from second deer hunt of season, hunted 2 islands that have always had good deer numbers, very little sign. Has anyone else noticed deer numbers seem to be down in PWS or am I just having bad luck?

Which Island did you Hunt? My son did Season opener and seen lot of sign,Grandson did a short in Sept and got one.l haven’t hit the woods yet. I know of a few others taken.

Kodiak is horrible... and PWS usually suffers more...

Thats what I was hearing this spring, quite often, as to the forecast for this fall....

I’ve never found Green or the Naked Island Group to hold a lot of Deer,nor Knight Island.I haven’t seen the 2017 Deer Pelllet survey by the Fish and Game .
Early season Latouche Island North end always seems to have Deer even on a bad year.

Knight we hunted once, it was pretty, never saw a deer or hardly any sign. OTOH when you are out in the woods its all good anyway.

Fairmont over by Unakwik always had a lot of bucks. Shot a bunch on Olson too. That is interesting... usually see more as we go South. Will have to take a look at the map.
