I have a very clean colt light rifle in 270 available. I bought from another well known member here a few months ago. I put it in the back of the safe and has not been fired by me. Rifle will come with 1 inch talley rings. This rifle was going to be a project, but I acquired a Nula.

$ 560.00 shipped lower 48 to ffl from individual. I can get pics emailed or sent through text.

What safety do these rifles have? Is it the three function like a NULA where you press it down while on safe to remove rounds? Does the safety lock the bolt?

What exactly would Melvin do to this thing? Isn't it already in a synthetic stock and lightweight?

The Colt stock is 10oz heavier than Mel's NULA stock. $400 and an easy trigger job gets you a great rifle. Not as light as a Kimber MT though...just saying...

Springs, Timney w/ NULA safety, mill rec'r to use NULA safety, mag. follower, stock and triggerguard.

CLR safety is 2 position, 2 function. Melvin's safety is 2 position, 3 function. CLR trigger sucks. Creep, overtravel and not adjustable. CLR mag. follower and triggerguard are plastic. Melvin's are steel and alum. respectively. Melvin's stock and CLR stock are both stocks and, mostly, the same shape. Other than that, 2 different animals. You'll never find a stock this light that is this stiff anywhere else, period. Melvin will sell you the parts to DIY, but, for what he charges, I would be proud to say that Melvin worked on my rifle.

I'm a CLR fan x6 and think that a $560 CLR gets the buyer a nicer/lighter package than a comparable grade/style production rifle from HOW/REM/RUG/SAV/WEA/WIN. My only complaint about the CLR is that the recoil of those in 300 WIN MAG isn't comfortable.

I bought a CLR in 270 Win about 5 years ago and it shot well, but I had an itch for a 7x57 so I sent it to Melvin for a complete overhaul. I got it back and still own it.

It shoots my hand loads from 120 gr to 160 gr all within an inch, and even though I have been tempted to sell it, I can't let it go.

Donsm 70 definitely has a nice rifle. Gentlemen I'm not offended by the pm offers, but if you would like rifle, please post you will take it. I would really prefer a postal money order on this one.
