Gd morning wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between a target vs bull rifle I have a beautiful mod 70 serial #86xxx in 270 cal with lyman #48 sight I was just wondering if the too are the same mine has a heavy barrel and wide stock thank you for any help

Not all Target rifles are Bull barrel configuration, depending on what class they were shooting in at the time they were produced. The 40-s and 50's 30-06 and 300 H&H target models that competed at Wimbledon were standard configuration for I believe Hunter class competition. However, if mine is any indication, the Target models had a trigger with a T stamped on the side. Incredible trigger on the Target models but other than that, there weren't many differences in the model configurations for the Target models. I believe some of the heavy barrel models were what were called the "Gopher Specials' and were meant as a varmint model.

Time to borrow my buddie's Rule book and bone up on the different models again....

Hi, Simple question with a simple answer, targets are 26 inch barrels, Bull Targets are 28inch barrels. very best winpoor

Thank you winpoor just checked mine it is 24 inches and as far as I can tell all original in 98 per condition

The .270 is rare when compared to the 30-06 number wise, Post some photos, I love em' , I just sold a pre war, undrilled 22 Hornet, Target. very best winpoor
