Lots of ideas here, mostly looking for good solid mount that won't shift. The Warnes look like a pia with having the same screws to hold scope and grip rifle. The XTRs are good, may go with a rail and that system.

The Warne QD's have separate screws for the scope tightening, and levers to attach them.

There's a good pic here:

Warne Tikka QD's

About $73 on Ebay.

I like them because it is easy to swap scopes between Tikkas.

You are not the only one. Yeah I love getting scope tubes marked especially when they are worth north of 1K

I've got a set of Tikka Optilock 2pc blued lows that are rock solid. Doesn't mar up the scope but a Sako/Tikka low is closer to a medium elsewhere

Beretta is still closing then out for $60 and you can usually get an extra 10-20% off. Good rock solid mounts to the integral rail.

That setup looks perfect. Where did you find that rail?

I pulled the rail off my Tikka CTR when I replaced its base. You can find them if you ask around though for pretty cheap. Beretta sells them new, not sure on the price from them but probably not cheap.

The bottom screws secure to rail. Top screws clamp scope. Scope will (should) just barely budge with only the bottom screws tightened.

Just a question about the Talley LW's.

I have seen 16bore's mods, and it leads me to think that the Talley LW's overhang the flat surface of the receiver by a little bit on each side.

Is that true?

I think I’m going to go with the Talley 20moa rail with Seekins 30mm lows on mine. Probably a couple oz heavier than the Talley LW’s but I don’t think the scope will move....
