I got this pic off Facebook. Supposedly shot in Michigan. I've never seen a buck remotely this big. It was on my daughter's page so I will check it out.

skeener beat me to it.

That thing's been shot in 7 different states. *grins*

I'm always amazed at the guys that can pose in those picts with their "trophy" and feel proud about shooting a deer in a pen.

That's a hog of a deer, but I'm not so sure that it's been Photoshopped. I'd guess that the image was made with a cell phone that has a wide-angle lens, and that a lot of what we're seeing is actually distortion. The Roosevelt elk that I shot last year was a little bigger than average, but the cell-phone image makes it look as big as a dinosaur.

Im not.

There's probably a thread or two about feeders, what time they go off and the "magic" that ensues around a frigging dinner bell.

No rocket science involved in domesticating wild animals, not much rocket science in making them big. Shooting them is, apparently, really hard work.....

The deer is so big that I got excited and posted it with no research... The pic is actually from my daughter's page which now has a copy of an article about the buck. It was raised on a game farm and was said to weigh 420 lbs. When I was writing for Precision Shooting a reader sent me pictures of a 300+ lb. buck he shot in CT. The deer was huge. If I can find the pics I will take digital pics (They won't be very good.) and post them. That deer was huge and this one is a lot bigger.

Amen brother. It's a farce.

Regardless of the circumstances, there's a lot fat to be trimmed off that critter.

In the book Book of North America I think the largest whitetail was killed in Maine with a shotgun. It went about 500 pounds. The rack was very small in comparison to the animal. I can't verify now since the book is not on my shelf.

anyon who considers himself a true hunter and outdoorsman would rather shoot a free range wild buck of any size than a raised pet monster whitetail...as has been stated before..not hunters..just catalog hunting and shooting...sorry but its a friggin joke and in my opinion embarrassing...
