I’d like to get my 15 year old son some binos for Christmas. Any recommendations for inexpensive binos? Say $150 or so.
What say the Fire?
Thanks
Fletch

Good afternoon, There's many worthwhile options. You do not mention 8x or 10x, however: Minox 8x42 or 10x42 would run you less than $150.00 as would Athlon Talos 8x42 or 10x42or Hawke Nature TrekPlease feel free to give us a call to discuss what might be the right glass for him

Sightron SII Blue Sky 8x32. IMO/IME a lotta bino for not a lot of money there.
Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

What if we bumped the budget to around $200.
Does that mean a big bump in quality?
i am thinking 8 or 10 by 42.
Thanks again
Fletch.

Sightron SII Blue Sky 8x32. Excellent recommendation. I bought a pair of the Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 from Doug and Co. and would absolutely recommend them as well.

I recently got wondering if I should grab another set of 6x30 Yosemites and was shocked how many places said discontinued by manufacturer????
In big open country I like 10x42. Looking at 8x32 next.

I've had several pairs of great binoc's, but my favorite is the cheapest pair I've bought in 40 years -- the 6.5x21 Pentax Papilio II. Weigh 16 oz., super-clear, nice controls, focus very close, $125. My expensive 8x and 10x don't get used much any more -- they are just too big and heavy, and I don't need the power.
