No donkey feedback, but I find it comical that of all the odd schitt he wolfs down, he can't handle oatmeal.

Horsemeat can be bought in markets in Italy Surely so can others
Way back when I was in the Navy, lots of animal meat was available on the street in various European cities

Andrew Z. will eat anything that swims, flies, walks, or slithers. I watch his show often, and find it amazing that he has the stomach that he does.

I ate some zebra in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I would think it similar. Tasted darn good.

When I worked with the Airlines we shiped alot of Horse meat to France! Interesting. I was served horse in Courchevel, France. I did not know what it was until after I tasted it. I ate about 2 oz of a 6 oz steak. On the other hand I was served a broiled fish that was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. French chefs have a reputation for a reason, although the horse was nasty! DMc : )

Before they were protected, Prescott, AZ used to hold an annual BBQ featuring wild donkeys and mountain lion. Friends who attended said both were very good.

Zebra is not an uncommon meat in Southern Africa. Most camps have it, and many slaghuis ( butcher shops) sell it. It's not as common as other meats but you would not have to look hard to find it. Gotta imagin that it's about the same texture, the taste being more related to what they have been feeding on more than any other factor.
Certainly far better than any older sage brush mule deer I've eaten in my life!

Horse meat fried with onions and peppers is quite tasty. Donkey is probably similar.

My mother traded beef and pork ration tickets for gas, bike tires and other rationed items during WWII, so we ate a lot of the horse meat that was sold in every grocery store in the 1940s. It was a long time ago, but I remember horse meat as being sweeter and a brighter red color than beef. When I was a teenager in Yuma, hunters were encouraged to shoot and eat burros to save the environment needed for desert sheep. I don't remember the color of burro meat, but as an adult hunting in Africa, the taste of zebra reminded me a lot of burro ... and I can say both are excellent table fare. Zebra fat is a bright yellow when cooked, though.

I've eaten it in China. Wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. Chinese duck chitlin's with green onions, now there's something good!

A lot of Horse meat is eaten in Europe. I have not tried it. I have eaten Burchell's Zebra in South Africa. It was very bland. Hartmann's Mt. Zebra on the other hand is one of the best meats I have ever ate!!!

Is a donkey BBQ same thing as an azz chewin'?
