Anyone have a suggestion on a starting point for a sub-sonic load using 5744 powder with a 220 Gr. Lapua Scenar-L that will reliably cycle the action on a 16" barrelled AR-15 .300 BO? New here so if this has been covered please forgive me. Thanks for any help.

Thank you sir. I was on Marlin Talk many moons ago. This site looks so big I may never see it all. Is there somewhere on here that has already covered the knowledge I seek? I'll check out that link. Thanks guys and Merry Christmas, Lee

Lee,

When you want to search for something here on the 'Fire, don't bother using the Campfire's "Search" function. It's pretty much useless.
Use this Google Custom Search link and it will even dig into the old, archived posts;

Let me know what you find out. I started one, but then the action noise was going to be an issue to me so went to a bolt gun. Have an AR 300/221 upper done now, but will just run supers with 110 or 115 tacx in it with a can for trailing deer.

194 Lehigh are the best expanding working subs for the bolt gun as far as killing that I"ve ever used. Won't use anything else for subs.

I love shooting subsonic in my Ruger American......the AR-15, not nearly as much. If you want quiet, you want REALLY quiet.

Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21.
Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
