Only powder I have that seems compatible is H 4350. Any pointers? Or even a starting reference.
Thanks

Nosler reloading manual or online data, is always a damn good place to start.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

I like RL powders, and am running RL 22 in my wife’s .338 with 225’s (TTSX’s at 2950). You may consider one of the newer RL’s that have comparable burn rates to RL 17 or 19. memtb

Basically the powders I have are H 4350 H 4831 SC RL 22 and 7828 from IMR. Thought the 4350 would be my best bet

Not much of a difference between H 4350 and H 4831.

It has been a while since I did much 338 loading, but I do recall my 338 liked the 4350's better than the slower stuff.

Sorry for sounding like a dic k. Nosler needs to get their act together and start listing H4350 in the manual more often. They are stuck in the 70's, or so it seems. They like listing H414, but who the fu ck uses that chit? I've used a chit ton of H4350 in my 338WM and it is excellent powder, but IMR4350 works just as well as long as you are mindful of it's temperature influenced velocity swings...

When I was shooting and reloading for a 338 Win. Powers I used, were 4350 and RL-19 Those worked best for me. Wishing you the best.

7 STW,
I've handloaded for and hunted with the .338 Winchester a lot, and eventually decided "modern" (as in Nosler Partitions and any later premium) in the 200-210 grain range would do anything needed. I like somewhat faster-burning powders like RL-15/4895, etc. with that weight range, because finding an accurate load is much easier, recoil is much lighter, and they get within 100 fps of slower powders. Never have seen any difference in "killing power" between 200-210's at 2850-2900 and heavier bullets, but no doubt some would disagree.

H4350 is a great powder to use. I can't get any so I've been using RL16 in my 338 WM with 210's. It's pretty close to H4350. RL19 always seems real popular for the 338 as well but I haven't tried it yet. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

7, I used I4350 when I had my last .338's also I4831,, In the very last one I used Re19.. With a long throat and a 210 Nosler it was really fast.. Now I have switched to the .340 and like it, but seldom use it .. Great elk and moose round.. I think I have 225's loaded for it, but killed several head with the 210.. That was Bob Hagel's favorite long range elk bullet in the .33's..

It is very much appreciated. One quick question John. Have you used much of the H 4350 at all. If so what were your results. Thanks I'm really handicapped as for powder availability
