I remember as a small kid living outside of Delta Junction, climbing up on the roof of our house and sliding back down on the snow that was packed up against it.
One year in Anchorage, I hired a couple of kids to shovel the snow off of the roof and when they were finished, they just stepped off the edge of the second story part and walked down.
Don't miss it at all.

They did a hell of a job, if they just used shovels. Good on them. I think they used a front end loader for some of it. However, not knowing what was where, they did a lot by hand. Still a lot of work. NYH1.

It happens... Some years ago, a major snow storm hit in ND whereby the occupants had to exit the house via a 2nd-story door.. They had to tunnel in to get to the front door.. The house was nearly fully covered with snow.. It was on the news at the time.. Glad they got to her w/o problems..

Not unheard of around the Tug Hill area..... My brother and his family live up that way in Oswego County and the snowfall amounts in winter can come in feet instead of inches in a 24 hr. time span. When my nephew was in high school up there he and friends used to shovel roofs pretty regular in winter. I'd like to know what the rate of snowmobile ownership per 1000 population is around there. I'm sure some folks put more miles on their sled in winter than they do on their regular vehicle.
