Ain't been out since friday. Been at it just about everyday since the 3rd wk in Sept starting on fort campbell. Everyday since ml opened in tn Nov 4th and thru rifle up until last Friday. Got burnt out, letting stuff walk most everyday. Gotta get back out tommorow and start seeing what is going on. Might run into a late season roaming satellite buck. Deer in the spots i hunt should be somewhat relaxed and into a fixed routine again i hope. Need to kill one with my marlin and break its cherry. Breaks are good to get remotivated , also got one place to hit that I ain't been too but once this fall . Change of scenery and terrain. Little over 3 wks left in the season and not many hunters are out their. Time for the final stretch and see what happens. Im sure alot of others have gotten burnt out and know what im talking about.

An 8 as wide as its ears or better would be nice to drop the hammer on with the marlin, if it don't happen their is always next yr. Shot a good 10 on fort campbell with the ml. Happy with that buck. If I could get that luck factor for a decent buck with the marlin, that would be cool. But that blind chit luck thing dont happen very often for me😃😃😃

I have let alot of younger bucks and 6 and 8,s walk this yr, might pay off next yr. Broken up rack 8 I have been seeing up until last wk( 5 pt last time i seen him snapped off beam above his g-1) might pay off next yr if he could keep his headgear in order, also been wondering what he has been tangling with possibly. Who knows.....

some of ours are dropping already.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

That put a smile on my face. How many folks, fifty years ago, would have seen that many deer in one place in just a couple of hours?

Wish you the best! Hopefully, the old boy that broke the other buck's antlers will stroll by. grin

Sure wish we had long seasons like that. 2 weeks of gun season where I hunt in Mn. Some areas just get one week or less.

Have to chose between firewood and hunting this weekend.

Need to get my handgun carry permit, I could have easily shot that 6 pt at 17 or 18 yds away with my glock 24. Kinda the plan for next yr. Get the carry permit and take the g24 out in the shoulder holster and a rifle. Iwould burn a tag and shoot a smaller buck in range with the pistol if given the opportunity.

How old were the 10 points teeth?

We don't change our targets just going to a pistol. Same targets for management. But I get it. Gotta start somewhere. Now it matters not if we kill, but what we kill for us.

10mm glock has been working REALLY well this year. May not shoot a deer next year with anything but that gun. Wife is after a cull 8 but so far he was only there last weekend when we were at another place. Figures. PRaying for warmer weather and a south wind, that stand is best with south wind by far. Only one weekend to go here then MZ.

RE wishing for a long season... its nice, but its a biddy too.... every fall OCT/NOV/DEC and part of Jan, actually most of Jan as Oct we set up, Jan we clean up, is dang near every weekend back and forth to the lease. Enjoy the heck out of it. But get nothing done at home. Thankfully Carolyn hunts and is with me every weekend. We did skip one weekend this year somehow.

Don’t let ole Ren fool ya, he leaves his deer laying where they die. A real unethical prick.
