Gun shops that sell them will walk you through the process.

If you’re planning on purchasing a suppressor through a dealer, all you need is two sets of passport photos, two sets of fingerprint cards, and a form of payment for the $200 tax stamp.
Some dealers have people who are certified to complete fingerprint cards, some don’t. If your dealer doesn’t offer a fingerprint service, most police departments or sheriff offices do.

all you need is two sets of passport photos, two sets of fingerprint cards, and a form of payment for the $200 tax stamp One passport photo. I have an FFL 07 and SOT and have sent in a bunch of Form 4s for trusts and individuals. I only submit one passport photo for each member of a trust or an individual on the ATF copy of the Form 4 application. So I am interested in getting a suppressor and I'm wondering what the process is for individual. I read something about needing a passport do you half to have a passport I read this on silencerco website just trying to here from people have done it. Thanks It's a simpler process for individuals now but more involved for trusts. If you show up to a dealer licensed to sell Title II firearms with one passport photo (taken within the last year), and two sets of fingerprint cards (FD-258) you'll be able to pay for the suppressor, write a check for the $200 tax stamp, complete and sign the necessary parts of the ATF, ATF copy and CLEO copies of the Form 4 and then wait about six months before you go back to pick it up. It's not a big deal.

No, you need a "passport photo".......it is simply a standard sized photo that can be obtained at many places. Do a google search for passport photos in your area and it should give you locations that can take them.
You do not need a passport.

Or find a dealer that has a Silencer Shop kiosk. Can do electronic fingerprints there and then use the camera in your iPhone for the picture. It’s so easy, a caveman could do it....

Likely reason for recommending 2 of everything is the ATF propensity to misplace things....2 is 1, 1 is none. LOL

Did all my paperwork a few weeks ago. Got a text from Bank of America today saying they had declined a transaction for suspicious activity. Yep, the ATF. Finally got someone on the phone at the ATF and they said they couldn’t run it again until me or my dealer (they didn’t know who) got a letter in the mail about the declined payment. Oh happy joy joy. Maybe I’ll have it in 2019.

This is why I chose to go to my dealer, in person, making the 2 hour drive and pay by check. You're not the first person who I've heard with this issue. SUCKS

SUCKS How does that change whether the bank declines the transaction? Your check goes to the ATF, not the dealer.
