This will be a Leupold VX-III 1.5-5x20mm mounted on M77 Express Rifle. Will the eye-piece end of the scope have plenty of clearance with the bolt handle utilizing Ruger brand "Low" rings???

Marlin39D: You should be fine. I used the Leupold low ring for the Ruger and had plenty of scope clearance.

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

I have a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 mounted on a long action M77 using the Ruger brand Low Rings. I have room to open the bolt with no problem - it does look close though (about an 1/8" gap). The eyepiece on your Leupold is a slightly smaller diameter than the one on my Burris, so I think you should be fine. The Ruger low rings are lower than other brand rings made for the Ruger rifle (I tried Burris brand rings first, too high). Odessa

I'm notorious for being a "stock crawler" so the Ruger "Lows" should put my eye level in-line with the scope perfectly. Besides I hate the looks of a scope that sits higher than it really has to be.

I'm getting this rifle from Boise Gun Company (not the one they have advertised on Guns America) as a slightly used (98-99%)rifle. It has great wood judging from the pictures they E-Mailed me. If this rifle is what I hope it to be, the Ruger Express (this one is a .270 Win) may be one of the better deals out there.

If the trigger needs work (probably will) or replaced whats the best on the market as far as after-market triggers or can they be easily "fixed" by a gunsmith?

I've replaced triggers on several 77/22's through the years with very good results even though the replacements sometimes required a little tweaking to get it "there".

BTW...Boise Guns Company has another NIB 77 Express rifle in .270 Win if anyone is looking for one. The one currently on Guns America with the plain wood is sold though. I have no affiliation with them but thought I'd give them a plug since they did me right on this one.

Please no apologies. I was just kidding.

Not to worry though...my wife still doesn't get my brand of (attempted) humor. grin
