I read about the opportunity for January deer hunting in central Tompkins County, NYS DEC is calling it the Deer Management Focus Area (DMFA), from January 13-31 2018.
I would like to partake of this opportunity, however the DEC website indicates there is no public hunting land in the focus area. I live in Delaware County, and am wondering if anyone here at the campfire has land available for this possibility? I would be willing to pay for a 'walk up' hunt, just an afternoon or two, maybe noon to sunset to just still-hunt around or sit along a stone wall, ravine or creek bed, anything like that?
I have property here in Delaware County, but between antler point restrictions, doe tags like hen's teeth here in 4O, and not a heavy deer population in this zone, I was not successful in the 2017 regular or muzzle-loading seasons.
I know I am taking a long shot here, (no pun intended), but I figured it didn't hurt to ask. I am a decent, respectful guy/hunter, not a crazy, reckless dumbass. No drinking, no littering, no destruction of property or trespassing, if there is any possibility here, I would accept it with gratitude and responsible behavior. Also, if it can work and I was successful in the field, I would surely and gladly divvy up meat, butchering on me of course.
Thanks for any consideration on this idea:)
