I decided to give my pet 270 a facelift yet keep it looking something like the original factory guise. The stock was patterned after a factory M-70 Supergrade as is the checkering pattern also. Overall I am very pleased with the way it turned out even if it is not the norm for campfire rifles. It was completely reblued by Dennis Olson and stocked by Grandview who posts here occasionally. I haven't decided whether to put back on the Bausch & Lomb Balvar 8 that has resided on it for many years or replace it with a new Sightron SII scope I recently aquired. I apologize for the glare from the flash when I took the picturs.

Sweet, I dig it. Sightron will not look good on a rifle like that IMHO.......

I'm usually a stainless synthetic guy, but I like that a lot!

Nicely done.

Very good looking M70 you have there.
You need some Talley's and a Swarovski to top her off...

That looks pretty darn good. I think the Sightron scope will look perfect on that rifle.

Many thanks for the kind words about my rifle. The people who worked on it deserve all the credit for how well it looks. The only thing I did was aquire the pieces that went into the making of it.

I might add that the American Walnut blank that the stock was profiled from was bought on Ebay for less than $50.00 delivered, so even a blind squirrel finds an acorn ocassionally. wink
