I have a couple that I use on a regular basis the rest wait until I get a wim to use them. Every time I sell a riffle I have to replace with the one just like I have learned that it is easier to keep them whether they are used or not. I really do not need another rifle but I see one in my coming my way. I just cannot get enough rifles I have some just because the girls look good.

Not only is the Deal Done.......Rifle Delivered Today.

It will NOT be neglected. It looks GREAT. Very Light.
My 'loaded rounds' for the 700 Syn will chamber without any problem but NOT going to shoot them w/o testing work UP loads.

SOON I'll get it scoped and start development. As soon as I can scope it, I'll take a couple of pix.

I’ve got several rifles that are neglected. One is a custom rifle with a trued 700 action chambered in 6mm Dasher. It has a Ed Shilen barrel with no contour. I’ve been thinking about selling it.

Yeah - my .280. Back in about 1987 I picked up a NIB Rem 700 BDL with the 7mm Express markings. Scoped it, sighted it in, never hunted with it. Then about '98 came across a new 700 Classic in .280 Rem. Have always like the classic stock better than the BDL, so ended up buying the classic and selling the BDL. Scoped it, sighted it in, then never hunted it! Sound familiar? Haven't even taken it to the range in at least 10 yrs. Doubt I've put more than 40 or 50 rounds thru it.

Its a nice rifle, useful cartridge, good accuracy. Made sure it was as accurate as the older BDL before selling it. Fits in nicely with my other three 700 Classics. I think of it as my "western style" hunting rifle, but all my hunting in the last 25 yrs has been in the northeast, with a preference for short action cartridges. In fact, its my only long action rifle.

Occasionally think about selling it, but then think maybe I'll eventually set up a hunting trip where its a good fit. And besides, I like it! But for resale value, probably should have held onto that 7mm Express.

They don’t know that they’re neglected....they’ve never been hunting! Well most of them! memtb

I've always used the 139 HBTSP at chronod 3300 fps for WT. I killed em CLOSE and FAR with good bullet performance.

This 6 pt was killed w/that load at +/- 150 yds.....DRT You can see blood on the TOP side -- OFF side. The blood on the ground was from where he fell, I moved him for the pic. He weighed 160 # and was JUST BARELY legal here-- 3 pts on 1 side (point must be 1" long)

[Linked Image]

IF, I took it Elk hunting I have a good load for 160 N P at +/- 3100 fps. However I'd morenlikely take my Black Shadow 300 WM.

Today I --PLAN-- to scope it and load my TEST loads. I have a couple of projects to do first but that's what I hope happens.
I didn't KNOW if the D M would hold 3 down being a Mag case. It does and that's FINE with me.

More as it develops.

I agree based on loading for many 7mm Mags over the years.
Off the top of my head I have loaded for several 7s that belong to me and either loaded for and HELPED others in their loading.

Out of all those, there were Rems, 1 Savage, 1 Win, ONLY 1 700 shot ONE grain more powder than the others for the SAME vel. and accuracy.

ÉDIT: add 1 BBR

This one is a Tikka but based on my Tikka T 3, - 270 it shoots the SAME loads as my other 270s including Model Sixes.

I am between projects now and resting. I'm anxious to get thisun ready. Thursday we are 'supposed' to have good WX and temp @ 70*.

Later

Jerry
