That only took three pages. Doubt many will make the move.

I would think key personnel will make the move. It would be really hard to start from scratch in WY.

I would like to know how many will move.

As Trump has said many times, why spend your own money when you can spend other peoples... Weatherby was looking for handouts and took those of the most gullible! And it was a pretty damn good package, will wind up costing the locals way more than what they gain from the move... people should really do some searching on stuff!

A profundity from one of our resident Kalicommies...One would think that dim bulb of a brain would flicker just a bit and realize his post is 180 degrees out form everyone else's here.

Weatherby is a business, being run like a business.

WY wanted them, their jobs. Wby wanted a gun friendly state with lower taxes.

The parties negotiated a mutually acceptable arrangement.

That's capitalism, pure and simple.

Wyoming is trying to broaden their business structure to not rely on energy as much. This is a win win.

Yes, and I am sure that Weatherby is not the final target, so to speak. Folks may find interesting a state statute passed in 1999.

§ 9-14-101. Second amendment defense.

The attorney general may seek to intervene or file an amicus curiae brief in any lawsuit filed in any state or federal court in Wyoming, or filed against any Wyoming citizen or firm in any other jurisdiction for damages for injuries as a result of the use of fire arms that are not defective, if in his judgment, the action endangers the constitutional right of citizens of Wyoming to keep and bear arms. The attorney general is directed to advance arguments that protect the constitutional right to bear arms. Before intervening in any lawsuit pursuant to this section, the attorney general shall obtain the approval of the governor.

[quote=NYH1]I wonder why Remington is still here in Ilion. They have a newer facility in Al. with a ton of manufacturing capacity from my understanding. A lot friendlier down there. Cheaper taxes and energy too probably.

They have a large corporate office in North Carolina I’m not sure what is left in NY.

Well how much is a piece of property in WY.? Say maybe 3 to 5 acres? or 10 even?

People don't like moving and paying a chit ton of money for property............I am thinking for the average worker in Weatherby's factory floor....just a regular employee...

If its so wonderful.....what are the property tax....and just how much is land anyway....

Simple house and a small piece of land to put it on.....get my meaning?

If its not good then whats the point?

It appears from what I read, the industrial park at Sheridan is building to suit tenant and Wby will rent the facility.

I would think that’s cheaper for Wby than buying land and building.

The name is all that's left. Doesn't take much to house PR. The rifles are built in japan and minnesota.

There may be final assembly, custom work at the Wby facility. I don’t think they would need that much industrial space for just an office staff.

Rent is cheap compared to California.

And if they sell their CA property, bet they’ll get a pile of money.

You can sell most of California homes and have enough money to buy in Wyo. A lot of them may jump at the cahnce to have their same job and a lower mortgage.

Sheridan real estate is fairly pricey compared to the rest of the state (outside the Jackson area), but compared to Kalifornia, it's cheap.

Do they own in California or rent?
