Looking for advice or opinions on a proper scope and mount setup for a CZ 527 American in 17 Hornet, not the Varmint model.
Not interested in anything with an objective larger than 40mm. And nothing more than $500-$600.
Does anyone know if the Burris Signature rings will work on the CZ?
Thanks for any feedback!
Edit: use is for Jack rabbits, ground squirrels, prairie dogs etc.

I have 2 of the varmits that I shoot thousands of times a year. Warne Mts. They are the lowest and probably the toughest You can get. Mine are in 17 Hornet. Scopes are in the eye of the beholder. Lots of good ones out there.

Think my rings are some old Burris's, which I "thought" were the lowest. Calhoun's Hunker mounts are reputedly the absolute lowest, but he's been out of stock some time already. Will he ever get more?

Be aware that even with the improved bolt handles, as you go down in ring height clearance becomes tight at the eyepiece. Leupolds and Swarovski's are (only) 1.7 inch diameter, so that helps. Reckon the redfields are the same, but haven't measured.

Golldammed motion detector lights. A guy can’t even piss off his porch in peace any more.

weaver eye pieces are also quite small. I like their classic series pretty well. Lotta glass for the money. I don't believe Calhoun's are any lower than the warnes. really like his single shot adaptors.

Agreed......I'v moved to Leupolds exclusively but the couple of Weaver Classic V's I'v had were worth every penny I paid and then some. Very under rated scopes IMO.

I have Warn med's on two 527's (American and Carbine). The American has a 3.5-10 and the Carbine has a 2.5-8. The 2.5-8 is a better fit IMO for the small CZ action but the 3.5-10 isn't bad either. Just depends what you'r shooting and how much magnification you need.

Top to bottom....527 American, 527 Carbine, 452 American.
