Quarter century in retail now, out in 22 months, 3 days. Money and benefits are both good, Clerks had it right when it comes to customers, though.

35 years as a printer. Last 23 yrs worked under 4 different names but at the same place. I have been running printing presses since May 1966. Man, you guys are a dying breed. I guess there's still a lot of stuff that gets printed, but I think computers and office printers have hurt business.

This thread makes me feel young. Just shy of 30 years in engineering. Worked three different industries, government, disk drive manufacturing and oil and gas. Have been at O&G the longest at 20 years. Longest time at one company 11 years, shortest 8 months. Half the places I've worked are no longer in business or got bought out. Too many swings in the employment pendulum to stay one place too long, and unfortunately it is a rare company that will provide the opportunity to advance your career from within.

43 yrs in the same design/construction/engineering "industry". 17 yrs, 3 mo the most at one place. Last 12 1/2 yrs self-employed. I retired Dec 28, 2017 because of a medical diagnosis and wanted to spend more time with my bride. I did enjoy it for all but about 2 years . . .
