It's only gambling if you pull money in and out.

Investing in stocks as ownership of companies is investing, and no investor is worried at all about what is going on right now.

Keep it in the "safe" fund. With that mentality and understanding of the stock market, you should not be in the game unless you enjoy life as a gambler. Yes indeed, I am calling you crazy. Get out and stay out before you lose your shirt too late in your life to ever recover!

Beware on the G fund - Wife hasn't moved money out but on advice of our adviser has stopped contributing to it.

The market is just way over due for a 10% correction. So, I think we'll see 10% plus a little extra because we're over due. Then, I think we'll march back up. Still sticking with 22,800.

Did the market not just experience a 10% +/- correction?
It went too high too fast, no doubt but earnings are looking better every qtr of late for most 'DOW/S&P/NASDAQ' Co's.
A 'breather' wasn't that unexpected, really.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for sharing. I am retired active duty and have that paltry pension. I will retire as a civil servant and have that paltry pension. I will get a little bit out of SS too. What my TSP will do is pay for a house outright. I am so close to retirement now that as long as I don't take a big hit, we are dealing with the difference between a 1600 square foot house and an 1800 square foot house.

i'd call bottom at 1;30 today. found support off the 200 day moving average. this support level was in play when Trump was elected.

Please explain to me how I stand to lose my shirt in the TSP G fund. Then, after you explain that, please tell me how I can best invest my money. Thanks for your help.

daily chart ended with a big green hammer off the 200 moving average. that is a classic trend reversal signal.

The dust hasn't settled yet, but it is time to start kicking tires. Might be time to take a nibble. Volatility is still in the air.
