Someone posted a site that sell silver bars and rounds sometime back.
I can't find it, and need a little help.
I think it was a smaller family run concern.

Thanks, Karl

The best way to buy is locally, without any paperwork. You should be able to find a place that sells at or near SPOT.

Karl, this is where I trade gold and silver.

https://www.texmetals.com/

Was just there yesterday.

Family owned, They also own Ranch Hand pickup accessories and a firearms manufacturing business.

They operate nationwide, and will treat you fairly. Good folks

There is an ETF (symbol SLV) that I think puts you in real physical silver. Of course you don't get to hold it or have it in case of catastrophe.

American Silver Eagles for all physical only for me. I caught the bug as kid when my grandfather gave me a Crown Royal bag full of 19th century Morgans

I don't have a lot, but like to break down denominations into half, quarter, tenth of a ounce etc. This could stretch it further if you have to use it for the reason you saved it for.

One might consider junk silver which are the pre 1964 coins of no collector value. One dollar face value has .715 ounce of silver. These coins can be bought for a small premium over their metal value and would be easily recognizable as real money out into the future. Of course they can lose value with market swings but would work as real money in a crisis.

This is the way. I had a little shop here that sold coins, stamps, baseball cards , collectables etc. Then about 10 or 12 years, the guy past. Then silver hit @ $45 an ounce & no where to sell. Still sitting in the safe---it's a Cape Buffalo hunt just sitting there.

Thank you to all who replied, the place I was looking for made bars and rounds with different themes.

Both my daughters play softball. They had one that was softball themed, and could be engraved on the backside. A 1 ounce silver round would be a nice thing to have as a "luck charm".
At $20 a piece they were really nice, and being real silver, they were not a piece of junk that would turn green.

I've been buying small quantities of 1 Troy oz. silver rounds locally. I bought some this week for $17.50 each. Last time I bought them they were $18.50 each. I give everyone in the immediate family one on each holiday. Hoping the kids have the common sense to just hang on to these in case they need them down the road.

Just buy them on eBay. Only make sure it's one of the reputable dealers you're buying from there (like APMEX), rather than from random individuals.

Once upon a time a member here told a story about his grandma, who lived in the Dallas area, as my own did. Roosevelt called in all the gold during the depression and gave everybody paper for it. Some folks didn't cotton to trading their gold for paper. His grandma put hers in her lockbox at the bank. Several years later she went to check on it and it was gone, replaced with paper money. Turns out the government had deputized all the banksters and they had went in and went through everybody's safe deposit boxes and confiscated all the gold.

IOW, why would you want anybody knowing what you're doing with precious metals? If you're treating them like you would a stock, it's a whole different game, but the OP seems to be buying actual silver.
