I've been on a reloading streak lately and am now turning my attention to my STW. This is first and foremost a hunting rifle. I've been loading 160 Accubonds with IMR7828 with good results in my Sako. Nearly every charge would shoot into an inch, but nothing ever stood out. This rifle showed no pressure signs through 3450fps, and I quit looking for more velocity even though it was clear I hadn't found a. node. I ended up backing off 1.5g for hunting purposes. I'd really like to find something that shoots these tighter, even at the expense of some velocity. I've loaded up some H1000 and RL26 but thought I'd reach out to the "fire" assuming there are some fellow STW loonies here. Any stand out hunting loads you'd care to share? I got similar accuracy with 140 Accubonds, but again nothing substantially smaller than 7/8". I'm limited by my magazine length to about 3.666. Max with the Accubonds before engaging rifling is 3.807. My previous testing was using 3.610 which duplicated COL of factory loads. For my H1000 and RL 26 testing, I have extended COL to 3.628. Suggestions?

77.0grs of Reloader-22 works real well in my 7STW with 160gr Accubonds about 3200fps.78.0grs of 7828 should give similar results.80.0-81.0grs of H-1000 is worth a try too.

Mine has always liked 7828.

I hear RL25 produces really good accuracy and velocity too though. From several STW shooters.

But 3450 is waaaay hotrodding things. I’d back ‘er down to 3200-ish

I use Reloader 25 in my 7 mm ultra mag with 140 Ballistic tips or Accubonds.

I have six boxes of 140 trophy tipped 🐻 Bear Claws to try. That should be a great fast 7mm bullet.

What kind of speed are you getting? Hodgdon and Nosler data has that running 7mm Rem mag speeds.

I think that speed was what Layne Simpson originally reported. I backed off because because the velocity seemed high even though there were zero signs of pressure. I’d be very content to find an accurate load in the 3250 fps range.

I haven't shot it through the chronograph yet. Nosler intentionally posted the STW low to promote their 28 Nosler
