We’ve killed big game with the 123 Amax, 130 Accubond, 130 VLD, and 139 Scenar out of the .260 over the past couple of years... my favorite is probably the 139. I’ve shot some 127 LRX lately, they’re impressive out to 700.... and hammer coyotes pretty good. I think we’ll shoot them at stuff next year.

My brother and his buddies have shot all sorts of stuff with the 140 VLD and more recently the 143 ELD... though I bet they go back to the 140 Berger.

At deer... I don’t think it matters much... but if I had to pick a bullet for elk/bears, I’d go 140 VLD or 139 Scenar. Because I tend to limit range to about 500 with the .260, the 127 LRX is also an option... I’d knock it off the list if 7-800 yard hunting really is your objective.

Dogshooter, I'm guessing those 139 scenars aren't very finicky? I'm fixing to get some as per your rec.

Dogshooter, how do the 127’s perform on meat? Thanks

JG.... easiest bullets tI get to shoot I’ve ever used.

Jud... dunno... just shot a couple coyotes with them thus far (both under a spotlight... you know my style), didn’t start playing with them till late in the game this year. For what I want/need in a bullet outta that gun... I think they’ll work well.

I have only just started using them after favouring much lighter bullets in my 260 and 260AI for many years.
It is a very easy bullet to get shooting well, and it kills pigs nicely, but maybe not as quickly as a 100 grain BT or TTSX, from what I have seen so far.
That said I am going to keep using them for a while yet, due to wanting to get more involved in the long range stuff.

I like the 147 ELDM, over re 26, at 2747 fps. They work real well on deer and are way accurate. That 127 LRX looks like a winner, if you were after elk.

Yes indeed!!! My Barrett Fieldcraft with its 18" barrel likes that combo too. But its roughly 2720 fps though....the shorty barrel can't quite run with the big dogs, but it'll still do just fine for as far as I am planning on hunting with them.

Gotcha, try to decide on the 127 lrx, 130 SS and 130 Berger in the 6.5 Roy.

Gotcha on the night coyotes, good times.

So, I picked the 142 ABLR to use last year based on comparisons I saw that showed it holding together well but still expanding at lower velocities. Only killed one large bodied buck at less than 100 yds (2725 or so MV from 24"). 143 ELD-X at 2600 or son from my son's rifle was very fragmented at 385 yds on large buck. No real conclusions here but thinking 127 LRX may be good where bone is involved. Mac

At Roy Warp Speed... I’d opt for the 127 of those three. The 139 Scenar outta the Roy would be impressive too... I know they Horned a few folks up outta the .264 Winny.....

Haven't used the 127 gr LRX or Berger but can tell you the 130 gr Swift does really well at 264 WM speeds. It's a tough bullet that should work well in the 6.5-300 Wby.

Haven't shot an animal with one yet, but the 123's shoot great. By far the most accurate bullet that I have tried in the Creed. I've tried 143eld-x, 147eld-m, 140amax, 130 accubond, 130berger. All shot moa or better but the 123 scenars are .5-.6" 5-shot groups consistently. The 123's were also the easiest to get to shoot good - charge with varget or rl17, seat bullet and shoot. Haven't even messed with seating depth and it shoots great. I've only got 400 rounds down the tube so I've just begun playing with this gun but so far the 123's are at the top of the list so far.

123 Scenar is easily the most accurate 6.5 bullet I’ve used in the .260 and the Creed... and I know folks have killed all kinds on stuff with them. All I’ve shot with them are coyotes and prairie dogs... and the results are not nearly as impressive as the 123 Amax (which is a serious goo-flinger). If I’m shooting a Scenar at at BG animal... it’s gonna be a 139, they’ve got the accolades for a reason.

If you wanna blow the crap outta coyotes.... the 123 Amax is your huckleberry....

123 Amax vs Coyote .... impact about 3000fps. The day before, I used this same gun/load to kill a Blacktail buck at 40 yards.... it exited, and the deer went right down.

Dogshooter, when you are referring to BG, are you meaning Elk size ? It appears from some that the 123 Scenar is great for Deer/Hogs, just wanted to be sure. I have a bunch of 123 Hornady's I would use for Varmits, thought it might be easy to switch back and forth with same weight bullets.
Thanks
